Remarks: The course is presented as a mixture of ordinary class teaching and work in groups, where the participants presents their observations to the class for general discussion. A good understanding of C/C++ is essential. |

Aim: The aim of the course is to enable the students to
- perform hardware and software installation for a local area network.
- understand administration of a network.
- understand the principles in an electronic network and how to analyse the traffic in the net.
- program the workstations and the server in the network operating systems. |
Contents: Network commands.
Work with administrative programme tools
Creation of users, administration of users, supervising the system.
Installation of network interface cards, server, workstations, printers and software.
Analyse of the traffic on the network using a network analyser tool.
The different types of packets,
TCP/IP and IPX, SPX protocols. Writing applications under Windows 95. Writing applications under the NetWare operating system. |
