Aim: To learn thermodynamic principles and to use them on systems of variable composition where chemical reactions and phase transitions can occur. |
Contents: Ideal and real gasses. The first, second, and third laws of thermodynamics. Adiabatic and polytrope processes. The Carnot cycle. Free energy, chemical potential, and fugacity. Phase transition and chemical equilibrium. Standard states. |
