Aim: The aim of the course is to make the students familar with the latest knowledge of transport, sorption and degradation processes in various soil and water systems. |
Contents: The Development of Earth in the Universe and the Athmosphere on Earth. Composition and development of earth's crust, water and biological material. Basic geology and hydrology of Denmark. Soil structure and soil chemistry. Groundwater geology, chemistry and pollution. Models for transport of water and contaminants (dispersion). Models by Darcy, Theiss, Jacob, Hvorslev, Ogata. Methods for avoidance and remediation of pollution in soil. Cleaner technology for waste treatment. |
