Remarks: The course is a geotechnical continuation of the IGG course 56204, which gives the necessary geological background for evaluation of foreign soil and rock types. Furthermore, the present course gives an international supplement to basic geotechn. courses

Aim: To enable the participants to use design and construction ethods based on international practise and standards in foreign soil and rock types.- To evaluate strength and deformation properties for spil and rock types unlike typical danish types.
Contents: International geotechnical engineering practise, regional soil and rock properties, field and loboratory procedures. Soil and rock types like laterite, black cotton soil, loess, permafrost in arctic regions and soft and weathered rock types are treated.
