Aim: The course relates to classification, strength and deformation properties using field and laboratory testing and permeabiliy and fracture mechanics for soft as well as hard rock. A number of laboratory tests will be carried out in order to abtain background for establishment of a consistent strees strain model for finite element modelling. The background will be Danish experience on soft rock like chalk, limestone, and clayshale, which will be extended to an international frame covering rock mechanics for building industry as well as for specialised application in oil and gas reservoir technology. |
Contents: Rock mechanics, classfifcation, laboratory and field testing, material models and modelling related to practical application in building and reservoir purposes. |
