Aim: To give the students a basic knowlege of microorganisms and their molecular biology. To give the students such knowledge of the methods and results in microbiology that they are able to read publication in microbiology. |
Contents: Molecular biology, regulation of gene expression, genetic engineering, terminology and taxonomic principles of microbiology. Cell Division and life cycles of procaryotes and eucaryotes. Growth physiology of microorganisms. Overview of groups of microorganisms. Selection of specific microorganisms. Selection of mutants. Bacterial genetics. Regulation of microbial metabolism. Ecology of microorganisms. |
