Aim: To give an insight into the application of operations research within public planning. Moreover, a framework to understand the development and implementation of strategical planning methods and models will be presented.
Contents: Operations Research Methods and the Social Sciences. Strategy development and planning. The relationship between planners and decision makers (the State) will be illustrated, both theoretically and as case studies. Examples of themes that may be considered in the final report are: strategy development within economic planning, health planning, traffic planning, energy planning, industrial planning, etc.
