Aim: To provide the participants insight in the principles for experimental work within water and wastewater treatment, including planning, conduction and evaluating the experiments and writing reports. Furthermore during laboratory experiments to give examples of investigations of chemical, biological, and process hydraulic and process kinetic parameters
Contents: The experiments primarily deals with processes in a watewater treatment plant. Some investigations are carried out at the plant, others are carried out in the laboratory however with samples collected at the plant. Different chemical and biological methods are used for studies of the different processes: e. g. reactor hydraulics, activated sludge processes (nitrification and oxygen consumption), aeration, chemical flocculation and precipitation, treatment of sludge and sludge stabilization.
