Aim: During the course the students obtain a thorough insight in biological, chemical and physical chemical processes and unit operations applied in waste water treatment plans. This theoretical understanding forms the basis for design of treatment plants (course C6341 and C6332). |
Contents: The course emphasizes the theoretical understanding and the design basis for the waste water treatment processes for removal of soluble and particulate organic matter, nitrogen, and phosphorus, aeration/stripping of gasses, separation processes, and sludge stabilization and sludge dewatering. |
