Aim: a) To become acquainted with a number of advanced methods in water wave hydrodynamics.
b) To utilize these for the calculations of wave heights, lengths and directions, as well as water levels and motions in the sea and in nearshore regions. |
Contents: Depth refraction, energy losses in waves, superposition, reflection, interaction between waves and currents, diffraction, mathematical and numerical modelling of steep waves. |
