- The evolution of CSCW as a research and development area; the current state of CSCW technologies.
- Theories of cooperative work; issues of IT support of cooperative work.
- Approaches to the analysis of cooperative work and the design of CSCW systems.
- Overview of CSCW technologies: conference support; group decision support systems; media spaces (audio, video, graphics); common information spaces ("document management systems", "knowledge management systems"); coordination technology ("configuration management systems", "workflow management systems").
- Enabling technologies and architectures.
