Department: Department of Applied Engineering Design and Production
Aim: The aim of the course is to enable the students to:
- use a systematic approach to engineering design
- use the fundamental principles and methodologies in designing a fairly simple product concerning function, stress and strain, assembling, disassembling and manufacturing of the elements.
- communicate the results of a design project in reports and drawings in a professional way.
Contents: The phases of the design process and techniques for analysis of problems, techniques for synthesis. The problems are related to Maschine Component Design (clutches, brakes etc.). A major part of the course will be the design of a product based on a specific working principle. the design will be supported by use of a 2D-CAD system.
