Aim: Enable the participants to apply the curriculum from course 59107 to practical purposes of calculation and to estimate the physical assumptions necessary for the calculations.
Contents: The topic in the course is the design of a pedestrain bridge crossing a motorway. In addition to the topics from course 59107, the official norms on loading and safety are used in the design. The second part of the period is a laboratory course where among other things the physical assumptions made in course 59107 are investigated. Experiments are carried out with models of selected beam and frame structures.
