Aim: To enable the students to make and carry out small mechanical engineering solutions by use of computers.
|
Contents: 1) Problem solving and programming: Algorithms and methods for problem solving, Pascal programming, program design, testing and error detection, program documentation.
2) Knowledge of computer, elements in the computer, function of the computer. This includes explaining terms like central processing unit, internal and external memory, peripheral unit, software. Editing, translation and running of programs on UNIX workstation.
3) Data representation and data treatment methods. Representations of simple data elements (numbers and characters) and data structures (registers, tables, etc.). Use of simple numerical methods.
