Aim: The course makes the student familiar with the fundamental principles of thermodynamics and gives the student a thermodynamical tool for the solution of simple physical and technical problems. The course gives a rounded presentation of thermodynamics as well as an introduction that will serve as a basis for future technical subjects.
Contents: The concepts of temperature. Thermodynamic systems, surfaces and equations of state, phase transitions. Calculation of heat, work and internal energy. Heat transmission. 1. and 2. law of thermodynamics. Entropy. Energy quality. Statistical description. Applications of thermodynamics to non-ideal systems.
