Aim: To drill mathematical skills, give students insight in fundamental mathematical ideas and methods and teach students to formulate, analyze and solve problems from different relevant technical areas. Furthermore, enhance students proficiency in implementing mathematical ideas and methods and in comprehending and applying methods relevant to the syllabus and further studies.
Contents: Elementary functions. Techniques of integration and differentiation including partial fractions. Complex numbers and complex functions of one variable. Taylor series. L'Hospital's rule. First-order differential equations. Second- and higher order linear differential equations and systems of linear differential equations with constant coefficients by analytical methods and by the Laplace transform.
