Aim: The objective of the course is to make the student able to
-understand the basic theory for complex functions of complex variables.
-understand and use the theory for Fourier- and Laurent-series, Laplace-, Fourier- and Z-transforms on a level that makes it possible to use the methods in connection with circuit theory and signal processing.
Contents: Complex functions of complex variables.
Taylor- and Laurent-series.
Curve integrals and the residue theorem.
Fourier series and the Fourier transform.
Signal description in the time- and frequency domains. Energy- and power-signals.
The Laplace transform and its use in signal- and system-analysis.
Poles and zeros and their importance.
Block-diagrams and their frequency domain description.
FTD, The Fourier transform of discrete signals = the Fourier transform of ideal sampled signals.
The Z-transform = the Laplace transform of ideal sampled signals.
