Aim: To make the student able to:
- understand the basis for transmission lines and wave guides,
- design, build, and test simple HF circuits,
- apply procedures of construction which makes sure, that HF equipment will not interfere with or be disturbed by other electrical equipment.
|
Contents: Maxwell's Equations on differential form. Transmission lines and wave guides (rectangular and dielectric). Characteristic impedance, reflection coefficient, phase and group velocity, dispersion, attenuation, lambda/4 transformers, and bandwidth. Microstrip.
EMC phenomena and basic definitions, interference coupling mechanisms, printed circuit board design, the EMC directive and associated standards.
