Department: Department of Automation
Aim: To introduce the recent developments and methods in the analysis and design of optimal and robust control systems.
Contents: The course will focus on the modern and most applied methods for optimal and robust control. The methods will be considered from an application point of view. The course will among other things include an introduction to robust control of multivariable systems, including different ways of describing control objects. Standard models for robustness analysis and design will be introduced. Limitation in the performance will be analyzed. Different model methods for analysis of systems with uncertanties will be considered. Design and synthesis methods for robust control will be considered, including possibilities and limitations in these methods.
In addition, model reduction in connection with robust control will be considered. Since the course focus on the latest theory in area of control, the topics and the emphasis will vary from year to year.
