Aim: The aim of the course is to educate engineers with a background in chemistry 1) who are suited for participating in development and production in the polymer producing industries, 2) who know the principles for processing of polymers and 3) who can be consultants in using polymer materials - for constructing as well as for other purposes.
Contents: Kinetics of polymerization processes, their thermodynamics and their technical elaboration. Fundamental structure, physical states and transistions. General technical properties of polymers including decomposition. Processing of polymers. Individual polymers and their commercial applications.
