Department: Department of Planning
Aim: To enable the students to choose technology and analyse the relation between technology and work in selected parts of the construction industry, considering the working environmental conditions attached to this choice and use.
Contents: The main part of the course is spent doing a group assignment, which will be carried out in relation to a specific site. This includes an analysis of the technology used, for instance in an engineering office, at a site, or in a production firm - and the consequences this has for those who are working with it. As support for this analysis, methods of work planning and organization, type of wages, demands to qualification etc. are dealt with and discussed. Traditional working environmental conditions, physical as well as psychological are being surveyed. Furthermore, current legislation and rules in working environment areas within the construction sector will be included.
