Aim: To make the students realize that aesthetics of building design should be the object of a conscious and systematic work where applied functional, constructive and visual qualities are seen as a part of a whole. Furthermore, the purpose is to introduce the separate disciplines of the aesthetics of building design in a way that will form the basis of a further examination and co-operation with other designers.
|
Contents: By means of lecture modules and groupwork the participants become acquainted with principles for building design - including form/symbol, space/spatial sequence/function, form/space/construction, proportion, texture and colour. Especially great importance is attached to drawing as the designer's most important tool from the first idea to the final decision and presentation.
