Aim: To provide theoretical and practical knowledge of inorganic chemical compounds and processes. To develop proficiency in calculation of systems in chemical equilibrium.
Contents: The elements and their compounds. Occurence, extraction, production, structure, reactivity and applications. Ilustration of the inorganic chemistry of selected metallic and non-metallic elements. Law of mass action, gas phase equilibria, ionic equilibria and aqueous solution, concentrations and activities, solubility, acid base equilibria, pH calculation, buffer systems, complex equilibria, redox equilibria and titration.
