Aim: To enable the student to use electrochemical techniques and to work with electrochemical processes in areas as electroanalyses, batteries, corrosion, galvano techniques, electrochemical synthesis and removal of heavy metals from waste water.

Contents: The interface between electrode and electrolyte: The electrical double layer, and adsorption. Electrode reactions: Electrochemical elementary reactions and composite electrode reactions. Transport processes: Migration, diffusion, and transport controlled electrode processes. Transient phenomena: Time dependence of electrode reactions.
