Aim: 1)to provide a physiological understanding of biomedical problems 2) to enable the participants a) to communicate with medically trained personnel b) to understand the growing importance and possibilities of technology in prophylaxis and therapy 3) to spur interest for the biomedical field.
Contents: Basic concepts of physiology. Interpretation of main areas of physiology: Blood; immune system and spleen; cardiovascular system and its regulation; pulmonary system; temperature regulation; digestive system; urinary system and kidney function; liver function; endocrinology; nerves and muscles; the autonome nervous system. Biochemacal aspects of metabolism will be given. Principles of harmacokinetics including poisoning of drugs will be mentioned.
