Aim: To give students a broad introduction to environmental engineering disciplines that particularly occupy civil engineers. An overview is given that explains the role of civil engineers in relation to other specialists working with environmentsal issues
Contents: Fundamental environmental issues and environmental technology. Introduction to environmental infrastructure in society, i.e. systems for urban water supply, waste water discharge and solid waste handling, including both conventional and alternative sanitary engineering technologies. Furthermore, an overview is given on the associated flows of energy and mass, as well as related environmental problems and methodologies for environmetal assesment
