Aim: Offer a comprehensive overview of Industrial Management and Engineering to enable the students to:
- analyze and describe typical industrial management and engineering taks related to product development and design and production preparation and production.
- use general principles and selected models and methods to solve industrial management and engineering problems.
|
Contents: The role, importance and development of industrial management and engineering including the interplay between production and economy. The following subjects are covered:
- Methods planning including design of working places, time study, description of operations and work environment.
- Production planning including inventory control, network planning, materials requirement planning and scheduling of machines.
- Quality management including quality management systems, ISO 9000, preventive quality activities regarding product development, process control methods, product safety and liability.
- These subjects are brought together in a model, which integrates the total industrial management and engineering task of an enterprise. This model is used to show the interconnections between these tasks and the need for their coordination.
