Remarks: The course is planned as a full time course in the first 8 weeks of the autumn semester. Together with course 80403 the two courses will be full time work in the 14 week period. The course is offered in collaboration with the Department for Control and Enginering Design.

Aim: To give the participants a competence in leading and participating in crossdisciplinary project work. to give insight into areas Industrial Design and Economy/marketing and their cohenrence with engineering work. Based on a project oriented industrial collaboration, the course 80402 focuses on the topics task understanding, focussing, and selection af area for the continued work. Furthermore is given a basic introduction for designers, engineers and business administration students into each others areas.

Contents: The course i taught in collaboration with students from Danmarks Designskole and Copenhagen Business School and is physically placed at Danmarks Designskole. The course gives a basic introduction to the topics Industrial Design, economy/marketing and engineering development and a training in project management and teambuilding is given. In the beginning at the course there is a one week trip to a design oriented city.In collaboration with an industrial company analyses is carried out of company strategy and economy, of marked situation, of a selected product and its production/lifecycle, and of customers/users.This is done by students in teams with three persons. These analyses will form the basis for selecting the areas where conceptual solutions should be generated in the succeeding course 80403. In the end of the course each team will produce a report and present their results at a presentation where the company also can participate. Major working areas in the course include: Strategy, corporate identety, aestetics, semiotics, production, product lifecycle, product development.
