Aim: To enable the students to understand and work with turbulent flows, especially in relation to civil engineering.
|
Contents: The course describes the turbulent flows on the basis of two approaches, partly by statistical theory of turbulence (correlations, spectra) and partly by means of deterministic turbulence models. Several relevant flow types are studied, for example turbulent dispersion and its significance in diffusion processes, non-stationary boundary layers in wave motion etc. Also, the course gives description of turbulent boundary layer structures.
