Department: Department of Information Technology
Aim: To make the student able to synthesize analog and digital filters for signal processing to be manufactored in microelectronic form. To introduce the student in the theoretical background for linear filtering in order to obtain an understanding of the general properties and the technological constraints.
Contents: Properties of electrical filters. LC-filters with low sensitivity. Mapping of low sensitivity LC-filters into active RC-filters and digital filters in order to maintain low sensitivity (Gyrator-, Leap Frog-, FDNR- and Wave Digital filters). How to deal with component tolerances in analog filters and rounding errors in digital filters. FIR and IIR filter design with linear phase and minimum phase. Design of digital decimation- and interpolation filters.
