Aim: a) to enable the students to construct reliable digital systems, taking into consideration the dynamic aspects of the digital circuits and the conditions under which the systems are to operate. b) to introduce the participants to methods and procedures of layout, including computer-aided printed circuit layout and manufacturing.
Contents: Power supply quality. Voltage stabilisation. Electrical and magnetic shielding. Cooling conditions. Dynamic properties of digital circuits. Dynamic stabilisation of the power supply, types of capacitor,power feed wiring. The effect of signal propagation on circuit switching. Transmission lines, microstrips. Noise in digital circuits. Differential amplifier as sender/receiver, balanced/unbalanced signal transmission. Signal damping in transmission lines. Printed circuit layout strategies, interactive print layout system. Printed circuit technology and multilayer printed circuit.
