Aim: The students should gain insight into central aspects of the development of the working process - focussing on sociological and psychological aspects of work. The students should be able to reflect on the preconditions of theories in terms of ways of thinking and societal conditions.
Contents: During the course 'classical' as well as new theories, empirical investigations and discourses are presented. It is discussed:
* how different modes of work organization reflect ways of increasing productivity
*how different working conditions influence the every day life and personality of the employees,
* which are the employees' preconditions regarding participation in and influence on improvements of technology and working conditions.
During the course it is attempted to conceptualize work, every day life and personality as integrated aspects of the development of society.
