Aim: To introduce the student to the multitude of new bio/chemical analysis techniques that have arisen during the last 5 years from the fusion of analytical bio/chemistry and microtechnology.
|
Contents: The course contains lectures and exercises in the present research projects of the group Bio/chemical MicroSystems. The emphasis is put on the combination of theoretical insight and 'hands on' experience with the projects. The exercises comprise microsystems for automated cell diagnostics, integrated optics, 'on chip' capillary electrophoresis, analytical enzyme reactors, automation and miniaturisation of immunoassays, DNA chips, prenatal diagnostics and cancer diagnostics. The different exercises will be performed in close collaboration with the supervisors of the projects.
