Aim: To inspire the participants to deal with audio-related problems with a critical and creative attitude.
|
Contents: Analogue recording on magnetic media. Masking in the frequency domain and in the time domain. Noise reduction based on psychoacoustics. Digital audio. Design, manufacture and playback of compact discs. Application of dither and noise shaping. Datareduction systems. Stereophonic theory: time-delay and intensity stereo, artificial-head recordings, microphone positioning, sound field around the head. Multichannel stereo. Loudspeakers: the loudspeaker as sound source, cabinet diffraction. Outdoor sound reinforcement. Sound reproduction in car cabins.
