Aim: To give the student a practical understanding of the different areas associated with modern service integrated communication systems and learn to plan and carry out a small project.
|
Contents: The course starts in the middle of the 14- week period. The students are divided into groups. Each group chooses an exercise and starts planning the contents and time. During the 3-week period, the construction and testing is carried out, and the final report is written.
The projects will focus on the construction of a small communication network with optical and electrical components and include applications. The projects could focus on hardware or software and for example include investigations of:
· Structures using frame or packets
· Synchronizing or error detecting codes
· Signal detection and regeneration
· Application for networks
· Small local area network
