Prerequisite: 49102.01020/01021. The course requires a fundamental knowledge of electromagnetic quantities(charge, current, and field), mathematics (scalar and vector functions of multiple variables, vector analysis), and circuit theory.

Scope and form: Lectures, group tutorials, home assignments, laboratory exercises.

Examination: Approval of compulsory activities is a prerequisite for taking part in the exam. Written exam (13-scale)

Remarks: The course is given in cooperation between tha Depertment of Electromagnetic Systems (EMI) and the Department of Electric Power Engineering (ELTEK).

Aim: To give the students a knowledge about the concepts and mathematically formulated laws of electromagnetics, which enables them to understand electromagnetic phenomena in nature and technology as well as to solve simple technical problems.

Contents: Resume of vector analysis, static electric fields, steady electric currents, static magnetic fields, time-varying fields, Maxwell's equations, plane electromagnetic waves.
