Aim: To enable the participants to design a system or an application containing an embedded microcomputer system. The microcomputer system shall be designed and programmed as an embedded system.

Contents: Basic CPU architecture and function. 
  Basic computer architecture: address, data and control busses,  timing, interrupt, serial communication. 
  Design of a small system or application based on a single chip controller. 
  Interfacing to external units: program and data memories and ports. 
  Use of the serial port. Interfacing and communication with other  systems. 
 Programming: High level languages and  assembly language . 
 Practical  construction, operation and testing of a small embedded system. 
 Use of simulation and testing tools.
