Department: Department of Buildings and Energy
Aim: To give a knowledge on computer aided engineering design where geometrical modeling, description and calculation are integrated activities on the computer, and where documentation for presentation of the project is generated from the digital building model.
Contents: By making a total building design project of a light building the student is supposed to apply as much as possible of the knowledge gained through the study. CAD tools for this are presented like: Modeling including data structures containing and linking geometry and other data. Application of integrated building models comprising geometrical, verbal and numerical data in building design. Integration of computer calculation in the total process of building design. Flow of information and data exchange between the participants in a building process. Documentation. In addition the student is introduces to the technology of light buildings.
