Aim: To give a basic understanding of the theory of chemical bonding and of the characteristics of the most important elements based on their placement in the periodic table. To give an advanced knowledge of calculations in protolytic systems.
|
Contents: Theory of chemical bonding, including V.B. and M.O. theory. Main group chemistry and selected transition metal chemistry with emphasis upon regularities based on their placement in the periodic table. Calculations of the concentrations of constituents in a solution in which several competing equilibrium reactions occur simultaneously. Electrolysis, electrolytic cells and corrosion.
