Aim: To learn to solve a technical problem efficiently by formulation of the
relevant sufficiently simplified mathematical model and solution of the
mathematical problem with appropriate analytical and numerical methods.
Visualisation of the results.
Contents: Linear and nonlinear ordinary and partial differential equations,
eigenvalueproblems. Wave propagation and dispersion. Heat conduction and
dissipation. Forced oscillations and resonance. Impulse responce and Green's
function. Laplace and Fourier transformations. Use of Matlab and Matematica.
