Aim: The aim of this course is twofold; a technical and a didactic. On the technical side, the course will provide the students with a broad introduction to a series of advanced subjects in mathematics, statistics, operations research and numerical analysis, through the participation in a number of lecture series. Series are planned and given by students and guests. Guests speakers we invite to present their reasearch in order to cover the technical aim of the course. The didactic aim is achieved by allowing the students to plan and execute lecture series or other types of instruction (computer exercises etc.), followed by an evaluation by their fellow students and the course teachers. This evaluation will form the basis for discussions and project work on didactic aspects of communicating concepts and results in mathematics, statistics, operations research and numerical analysis.
Contents: Mathematics, statistics, operations research, numerical analysis, didactics.
