Department: Department of Environmental Science and Engineering
Aim: To enable the students to perform reliable analytical determination of environmental parameters under basic conditions prevailing in e. g. developing countries. The course is oriented towards acquiring practical experience.
Contents: The main elements are:
* Strategy and planning of sampling and evaluation of data.
* Reliable simple chemical methods for analysis of environmental parameters.
* Use of transportable kits for chemical analysis.
* Main principles of analytical instruments and procedures as gaschromatography, atomic absorption, potentiometry and automatic analysis.
* Practical analysis of environmental parameters.
* Repair, maintenance and optimisation of instrumentation
* Analytical Quality Control.
