Aim: Offer a comprehensive overview of Production and Operations Management to enable the students to:
- understand Production and Operations Management taks related to product development and design and production planning and production.
- use general principles and selected models and methods to solve Production and Operations Management problems.
Contents: The role, importance and development of Production and Operations Management including the interplay between production and economy. The following four main areas are covered:

- Strategy of productive systems.

- Designing productive systems (product and service design, quality management, process planning and layout, supply chain).

- Operation productive systems (capacity planning, material planning, process control, project management).

- General subjects (influence of the IT-development, ERP-systems/Enterprise Resource Planning, Business Excellence, continual improvements, environmental management, marketing).
