Aim: To give students the ability to assess corrosion processes and to indicate precautionary measures for corrosion protection of technical plants within chemical, mechanical and civil engineering areas.

Contents: Electrochemical foundation. Potential-pH diagrams (Pourbaix diagrams). Current-potential curves. Electrochemical corrosion protection. Inhibitors. Surface coatings. Stainless steel. Corrosion testing.
