Aim: To enable the students to make numerical calculations of strength and vibrations of large or geometrically complicated maritime structures.
|
Contents: Part A: The stiffness method used on frame structures in three dimensions, including principles of modelling. Dynamic analysis of frame structures.
Part B: The finite element method based on energy theorems. Different element types. Non-linear behaviour. Stress and vibration analysis by use of the finite element method, including principles of modelling. During the course several practical design projects related to maritime steel constructions are solved.
