Aim: Multimedia technology is rapidly expanding. In this course, students will experiment with this technology, through the design and implementation of an electronic commerce on-line shop. A large part of this course will be devoted to theories and practices, in multimedia as well as interaction design, including he role and function of different interaction modalities. Students will also acquire hand-on experience in multimedia technologies.
Contents: After a brief introduction to electronic commerce, topics related to the development of the wep site will be adressed. It will include aspects such as navigation and user interface design. It will also cover the use of Java Script and similar tools. Then the utilisation of different media i.e. sound, animation and graphics, in relation to the site design, will be viewed in details. During the course, students will, in groups, design an application in which different multimedia facilities are applied.
