Aim: The course supplements 52210 (Introduction to Communication Systems), presenting how communication systems is becoming more wireless, and how the new services will influence the society and support its needs. The course is given by External Professor Ole Mærk Lauridsen, M.Sc.E.E., former Vicepresident of Tele Danmark R&D, and Associate Professor Jørgen Nygaard, CTI.

Contents: Introduction to wireless technologies, GSM and the future systems, the radiochannel, the services and their platforms and the media- and service convergencies. "The mobile Internet". The need for a "Unified Network" will be presented. Also group-projects, visits to mobile switches and radio basestations; and companies in the wireless industry, will give the student hands-on experience in the future mobile filed of technology and services.
